WELCOME BACK PANTHERS!

Just a few things to remember or to know about Marsh Pointe as we kick off a new school year:

Please be patient in the car drop off/pick-up lines.  Pull up as far as you can and make sure that your child is prepared to get out of the car in the morning.  Please do not get out of your car if you are in the line as this takes up more time and we need to keep the line moving.  Please refrain from talking on your cell phone while driving on school property.  We have had some very “close calls” which were extremely frightening, as you can imagine!

Do not drop your child off before 7:30 am.  There is no adult supervision and it presents a dangerous situation.  I am quite certain that no one would drop their child off in a public park and expect them to be safe.  It is no different on school property prior to 7:30 am.

Make sure that your child and their teacher know how your child is getting home in the afternoon.  Ms. Medina is inundated with phone calls from parents who expect her to get the last minute information to their child.  Sometimes the information does not reach your child for a variety of reasons.  It is a safety concern that we take very seriously. Obviously, we know that emergencies come up, but better planning on your part will help prevent some of the confusion at the end of the day on our part.  Additionally, there will be no early release after 1pm.

Please do not bring dogs, cats, ferrets, etc. to school without prior permission from Administration.  The animals present another health and safety concern which is taken very seriously.  Dismissal time is particularly dangerous with so many children, teachers, and parents lining the sidewalks.

If you plan on coming for a birthday lunch with your child, please do not bring any food in from outside.  No McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, etc. Cupcakes for your child’s class are permitted, but they must be store bought.

Thank you very much for your cooperation, support and understanding in these matters.  We are off to a wonderful start to the school year and together we will continue to move in a positive and successful direction.

NEW PROCEDURE – Beginning on August 19th, 2019 there will be no parking in the front lot during arrival.  This has become a serious safety issue and an accident waiting to happen.  We will have staff waiting to assist your child getting out of your vehicle.  We would also welcome parent volunteers to help out in the carline each morning. If you wish to park and walk your child to the front door, you will need to park in the adjacent lot south of the school.

Walkers/Bikers – Will be released from the South exit of the building. You may park in the field and walk up to get your child.

Car Riders – Dismissal will take place inside the building.  Have your child’s name, teacher, and grade displayed on your car tag – You may not park your car in the parking lot and walk up to the building to get your child as a car rider.  If you want to park and walk up to get your child you may designate them as walker, park in the field next door, and pick them up from the south door.

Bus riders – Exit from the bus loop.  Parents are not permitted in the bus loop.

Welcome back to the BEST school in the county!
